The first-annual CycleSF invites thousands of bicycle riders of all stripes to cycle around our city on a fun-ride that will raise funds for the San Francisco Recreation and Parks Department. Twenty-four miles of San Francisco streets will be open for cyclists to create the city’s largest cross-town bike parade.

The event will take place on Sunday, April 28th with a fundraising goal of more than $100,000.
How Do I Register?

Registration is now open! The price will increase as the event date draws closer so register today.

Route Specifics

The ride will start at 7am in the China Basin/Mission Bay area, navigate around the city, and end in Golden Gate Park. The course will be monitored by the San Francisco Police Department during these times. As the ride is not a timed race, there will be designated traffic breaks staffed by SFPD and SF MTA officers where vehicle crossing will be directed at critical points.

There is also an “Elite” Rider option for riders to pay an extra $35 to ride in an escorted pace group, ahead of the main event.

There will be 2 rest stops on the route. The first is at mile 7.4. The second is only for the long-route riders, and is located at mile 18.2. The rest stops will have water for filling water bottles, snacks, medical aid, bike repair, and portable toilets.

There will be intermittent vehicle crossing at a number of intersections along the route. Riders must stop if directed to do so by course monitors, police, or other officials. Riders must ride respectfully and stop for pedestrians. Although the roads will be closed in most locations, there will be some areas where riders must share the road with vehicles and other users.

The roads will be re-opened on a rolling basis. They will be opened based on the last rider leaving the start line at 9:00am, and riding an average speed of 8mph. Anyone that cannot maintain this pace will have two options. They can board a SAG bus and put their bike on a SAG truck and be transported to the finish line. Or, they can ride on the streets, following the vehicle code of the State of California and the City of San Francisco.

The Finish Line and Festival

The Finish Line Festival is open for the public to enjoy food and beverages at CycleSF food truck station and beer garden, entertainment at the official CycleSF costume contest, yoga provided by lululemon athletica, live music and more!

The finish line will be located on JFK Blvd. in Golden Gate Park, just west of Transverse Dr.

The first rider will reach the finish line at about 7:30am, and the last rider will reach the finish line at about 12:30pm.

The finish line festival will occur in Speedway Meadow in Golden Gate Park. The festival will begin at approximately 8:00am, and go until 1:00pm. The festival will consist of food trucks, a beer garden, live music, and lots of bicycle related fun. There will be limited secure valet bike parking. There will be plentiful self-bike-parking, and riders are encouraged to bring a lock to secure their bike at the festival.
Who Benefits?

Funds raised will go towards new bike racks in San Francisco’s parks, as well as the Recreation and Parks Department’s scholarship fund that supports recreation programming for low-income children and families.

There are great fundraising and donation incentives including a chance to win a bike from PUBLIC Bikes, CycleSF Bike Jersey and Bib Shorts! Learn more
